Meet the team

Each issue we share some interesting facts about three members of our team at Mercer.

This issue, meet Laura, Steve and Victoria.

Laura Evans

Role: LGPS Consulting Actuary.

Joined: 2001.

Place of birth: Liverpool.

Favourite film: Wow that’s tough. Don’t think I can narrow it down to one. Based on what I’ve watched the most times it probably should be one of Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, The Empire Strikes Back, Back to the Future, the Matrix or Die Hard (an eclectic mix!).

"Strictly or Jungle" or neither: I’m not really a fan of reality TV but out the two it would have to be Strictly.

If you had to perform a ball-room dance, what would it be: Tango or Paso Doble. I love the drama.

If you had to perform a Bushtucker would you prefer an eating trial, a mental trial, or a physical trial: Definitely a mental trial but I don’t think any amount of money could make me sign up for the Jungle. I don’t mind snakes but could not cope with any cockroaches or an eating trial.

Steve Turner

Role: Senior LGPS Investment Consultant.

Joined: 1998, Yes it has been that long.

Place of Birth: Ipswich.

Favourite film: Casino Royale.

"Strictly or Jungle" or neither: Jungle.

If you had to perform a ball-room dance, what would it be: Salsa (so I’ve been told).

If you had to perform a Bushtucker would you prefer an eating trial, a mental trial, or a physical trial: Mental trial, I’d be awful at the eating ones.

Victoria Evans

Role: Public Sector Leader (Oliver Wyman).

Joined: 2022.

Place of Birth: Liverpool.

Favourite film: If it's a judgment free zone then I'm saying Dirty Dancing, if I'm trying to be a bit cooler I'd say The Departed - both in my top 5 and both with an exceptional soundtrack.

"Strictly or Jungle" or neither: Strictly.

If you had to perform a ball-room dance, what would it be: Would probably try and channel my inner Beyonce and go for a commercial dance (now a category fully accepted on strictly), if I'm being authentic to the genre an Argentine Tango.

If you had to perform a Bushtucker would you prefer an eating trial, a mental trial, or a physical trial: Physical - no snakes or rats please!
